Decided to do a little exploring yesterday, and hiked into a few streams...this is what we found.....



Neat Little Native...

These buggers were beautiful!!




And, this was an interesting surprise...after missing a MONSTER of a brookie in a deep plunge pool, on the way back through at the end of the day I decided to see if I could get him to hit again....this is what I found waiting for me. We think its a wild fish that worked its way up a pond that this blows into...awesome 15".

Wouldn't you think that somebody catching fish like that could at least smile for the camera?

Oh, we were smiling, and then the black flies found us. I have never seen flies so bad, thats why I am squinting. We actually had a really hard time taking pics because of the flies. But, ya, it is quite the gem.

That's the key to great brookie fishing - when you can hardly stand the bugs. On the bright side, it keeps the tourists down. :-)
