| Just got back from a week at GLS. Fishing was outstanding. Water levels are low as everyone knows but there are fish everwhere in the river. It seemed the more you got away from the more popular spots the better the fishing was. One morning I landed 14 salmon between 5.30 am and 7.15am, didn't see another soul in over a mile of river. The difference in the Dam pool is staggering, basically it is two bowl shaped ponds with a spit of sandbar in the middle, and even the dam pool was good to me. I fished streamers almost exclusively except for one salmon on a CDC emerger in the meadow. Hardly fished nymphs at all, but people were getting them on nymphs, one of my friends got most of his fish on dries and emergers. There was something for everyone, I guess. Can't see this lasting much longer, with such low flows the temp. is sure to come up and the fish will move out. Great fun as long as it lasts. Terry |
