Trying to start to plan a trip to alaska next year any body who has any interesting info, acom..., best time all would be great hope the fishing is swell at home I am fly fishing in europe/UK it has been a great trip really nice fishing everywhere i have been will give you guys the full report when i return in september cheers

That question is almost impossible to answer in less than a 300 page book.
First of all Alaska is almost 1/3 rd the size of the contiguous lower 48...so asking about "Alaska" is useless. You need to first define WHERE in Alaska you're interested in.
THEN: You decide on the *species* you're after. The Pacific Salmon all run at different times (e.g. Kings are a late June/Early July fish whereas Silvers are Late August/Sept).....and the "10 pound Rainbows" we all hear about are, in reality; only a two-week window fish coming out of Lake Iliamna last week of Sept/ 1st week of October.(And most lodges are locked up those two weeks in perpetuity by wealthy Captains of Industry ) Steelhead are an entirely different area and proposition.
Then: You decide the "type" of fishing you want to do. (e,g. Fly-Out Lodges (got $6500 on up??); River Specific Lodges; Tent Camps; Float Trips; etc.
I've gone.....and thought the entire affair was *way* overrated; but, as always, YMMV...........
