Left Winterport about 6 am, in the water at WB around 8:30. Water level was way down from 2 weeks; I think I like around 3000 better. Fished my two usual spots picked up 5 salmon, one dink, three around 15-16" and one big around 22". All took 18 copper john dropper.
Next stop, the dreaded Roach River. Fished in downpour and thunder for about an hour, expensive wading jacket was nice and dry, as it was in the car. Nothing at the Roach for me; I just don't know enough about that river.
Next stop, traffic jam in Greenville, took 35 minutes to get from Leisure Life turn off to the center of town, saw dryfly24x in traffic and then jetted to the Moose, in the water about 3. Four salmon, one small around 10" and three nice fish 16-18" All took, you guessed it, 18 copper john dropper. Sprinted back up the trail to get to the next stop.
Next stop, EO, water is at 2500 +/- fished a copule of quick runs as I needed to be home by 7, one small salmon, on, you guessed it. Didn't have enough time to hit some other hot spots. Had a nice chat with dryfly24x in the driveway at Wilson's and met his dog.
311 miles driving, two ham sandwiches, a few cigars, some beers, gatorade, sore feet and back, GOTTA LOVE IT.

It WAS a nice chat, and on the way home the dog had nothing but good to say about YOU! |

| Norm, I actually took one of those the other night within 5 minutes of being there. And, being that Im still recovering from surgery and it was 3 weeks exactly AND I have an infection, I had on my waders like a good little boy trying to keep warm and dry. Went in head first like a dive and filled them up nicely. Sucked hard and surely didnt help the infection that I have!!! BUT, it was worth it to stay and fish with wet waders as I got some nice fish. Duane- Rubber leg Copper john in 16 or 18 was and has been the dropper ticket for me for a couple of years. Hope you survived your dunking. And Norm, I very nearly went for a swim in the Moose. |
